so what is so wrong with the X-Arcade? I keep hearing negative things, but I’ve recently messed with the more fanboyed joysticks like the SF 4 stick and I found them to be really loose and sloppy. I like the concave buttons and teardrop joystick of the X-Arcade, so it would have to be pretty fucked up for me to not want it. So what is so wrong with it?
When the so called super strong tank stick arrived it was ALEADY BROKEN!!! I had to fix it in 2 places. year later circuit board doesnt work i ask for a new one but apparently the incredible lifetime warranty doesnt apply to me because i got it from the wrong place! >:( DONT BUY THIS
Everyones on about the build of this thing and lag due to adapters. Myself i’ll be ordering about 2 sticks and 20 or so buttons for them for a custom built stick for 360/original xbox/pc, i’m going to disassemble the controller and wire the joysticks and buttons directly to the controllers pcb with a connector in between, thus being able to swap between a 360 and original xbox pcb and eliminate any lag and have a better button layout. I’ll be posting a video on this project in the coming days.
I think people’s problem with this isn’t the sticks/buttons used, but instead the way it is built, to pass through so much hardware creates lag. If I’m correct (i’ll be testing this soon) ordering sticks and buttons from them and custom building your own should eliminate lag. Also, if you browser around, you’ll notice most SFIV players prefer Japanese parts, or at least those made in the japanese style, ie. Sanwa or Seimetsu sticks and buttons. Which means balltop sticks and convex buttons.
well the USB is the primary output, so it shouldn’t create much lag that way. I think the whole “lag” thing is completely blown out of proportion, I think people just need to accept they suck at video games and stop making excuses. I have played plenty of emulated compilations that have “OMG LAG!” and I had no problem at all. Also, concave buttons are the ONLY buttons an arcade should ever have, anything else is just nonsense.
and on that note, can some one verify if there is any significant lag if just playing it on the computer with USB? I only plan on using the USB cable to use with MAME.
I’m getting ready to make a case with a sanwa JLF stick and sanwa buttons, I know you’re not big on convex, but if you want to eliminate lag I could suggest the method I’m using, buy whatever sticks/buttons you want (Happ, Xarcade, Sanwa, whatever), make/buy your own case and wire them to a wired xbox 360 controller. The wired controllers are recognized automatically in windows XP and above and will download the drivers for you (if not they’re on MS’s website.) No lag this way.
no, but you can always use and adapter from xcm via ps/2 or ps2 adapter for the stick into the xcm adapter.
in general, microsoft should stop jewing out and actually make x arcade stick an official product for the 360 so we don’t have to go through all this trouble of converting things.
umm, you know it would be alot cheaper and probably more compatible if you just bought a $10 USB gamepad (logitech precision is great quality) and wired to that, right? That is of course unless you actually want to use it on a 360.
Right, but I do actually intend on using it on a 360, Street fighter 4/soul calibur 4, thus the 360 is the best way for me to go to use it on a 360 and emulators (Mame, NES, etc) for mine, if you want to go with purely pc then you’re right. Plus I had a spare wired 360 controller laying around that’d been in a duffle bag for months since I use a couple wireless ones instead. So it works out semi-free on my end.
#1 the included USB/PC cable causes the X-Arcade to be recognized as a KEYBOARD, not a game controller
#2 the 360 requires a special code to be present in the programming of the controller to be recognized by a 360, and Microsoft is very picky about who gets it. You can read about it on the x-arcade website
holy mother fuckin yid shit. X-arcade is fckiing gay. pseudo haPP parts along with lagging pcb for 100+ is a fucking joke. i’ll play w/ my custom made arcade stick w/ sanwa parts fuck you vry much.
X-Arcade only uses knock off low quality parts.
Also there’s no room for 2 players to play comfortably, you’re always playing at an angle.
The PCB is garbage, it’s basically a low end keyboard PCB with no buffer, so forget about playing fighting games with this.
All the console adapters are horribly laggy.
Either get custom stick with real IL, Sanwa or Seimitsu parts, get a Hori or Madcatz or don’t waste your money.

10lbs is way too much for a stick. I prefer the solo stick. But, if it can’t play on the 360 without experiencing input lag, then fuck it.

lol, you can’t play on the 360 with it at all, they don’t make an adapter yet.

there is no lag with computers when using this stick, only on a rare occasion it would happen to a console.

will this work on windows 98
June 15th, 2009 at 10:50 pm
holy fuck, where do I begin here:
#1 the included USB/PC cable causes the X-Arcade to be recognized as a KEYBOARD, not a game controller
#2 the 360 requires a special code to be present in the programming of the controller to be recognized by a 360, and Microsoft is very picky about who gets it. You can read about it on the x-arcade website
bottom line: you’re an idiot.

these buttons and stick are not high quality. sanwa is the best dont let anyone tell you otherwise.
August 14th, 2009 at 5:24 am

December 26th, 2009 at 9:33 am
It is suposed to be recognized as a keyboard, and because of that you don’t need any drivers which is the whole idea!
January 29th, 2010 at 8:50 pm
